This unit boasts a ultra-high-pressure pump that produces 40,000 psi at 8.5 gallons per minute. Equipped with the same water filtration and vacuum recovery system that is found in all of the Stripe Hogs, the water debris system separates the water from the debris so that the debris is disposed of in a nearly dry state, while the water is filtered to 100 micron. The polypropylene material of the tank where the water is stored reduces the overall weight of the system. Toolboxes and a trailer hitch are standard. The SH5500 is armed with a single blasting head in the front, which can easily be adapted anywhere from 6-24 inches along with a variety of levels of aggression to match any application. This SH5500 produces 75% of the removal capacity of our largest model, the SH8000, for just over 50% of the cost providing a cost effective and comprehensive solution for pavement marking and runway rubber removal. Its small quantities on the back make it ideal for small jobs. Adding our custom 2000-gallon water trailer extends the uninterrupted run time to about five hours before the dumping of debris is necessary.

The SH5500 is mounted on a Ford model F-550, 350 horsepower, six speed manual transmission. The manual transmission enables the pairing down of the volume per minute production without bleeding any water off. The joystick along with the custom control panel allows everything to be easily managed from the driver’s seat.
